Delta and Airbnbβs Partnership Is More Rewarding |
|
Delta and Airbnb have been quiet partners for years, their arrangement roughly as exciting as a middle seat. Functional, but nothing to write home about. Their partnership has always been limited to earning 1 SkyMile per $1 USD on stays booked through the joint site.
Thatβs all changing now, for the best. Now, when you link your accounts or if you already have, you can reach higher earning rates through Airbnb Experiences and Services. Itβs a nice revamp to how your miles actually stack up.
The new structure:
ποΈ 1 SkyMile per $1 spent on Airbnb Homes
π― 3 SkyMiles per $1 spent on qualifying Airbnb Experiences and Airbnb Services
If you're wondering what actually counts as an Airbnb Experience, think along the lines of a pasta-making class in Bologna, a street food tour through Bangkok (canβt recommend this enough), or a painting session with a local artist. Those are exactly the bookings now earning you 3x SkyMiles, which honestly makes splurging on the fun stuff a lot easier to justify.
If you have trips on the horizon, itβs the perfect time to link up your accounts and book an experience on service.

Carriers Are Grabbing the Routes Spirit Left Behind |
|
Spirit Airlines has been gone for just a few days, and the airline industry continues to spin. The ink was barely dry on Spirit's closure before other airlines started swooping in.
Turns out a lot of them were already eyeing those same airports anyway. Spirit's collapse just gave them the perfect excuse to move faster. Some carriers are even capping prices and throwing rescue fares to passengers who got left hanging.
βοΈ Here's who showed up:
-
Southwest wasted no time. Two days after the shutdown, the carrier announced big expansions in Las Vegas and Orlando. In Vegas, Southwest is adding frequencies on 15 existing routes and launching 10 new ones by spring 2027, including international flights and longer domestic hauls. Orlando gets Southwest's biggest-ever flight schedule in 2026, with expanded service on 23 routes and 200-plus daily departures by 2027.
-
JetBlue was already growing at Fort Lauderdale before Spirit's collapse. Now it's adding 11 new destinations from the airport, including Baltimore, Nashville, Chicago, Houston, Detroit, Indianapolis, Columbus, Charlotte, and three Latin American cities. JetBlue is also offering a status match to former Spirit customers. New flights are bookable now.
-
Breeze Airways is launching four nonstop routes out of Atlantic City Airport that Spirit used to operate. Orlando service starts July 3, Myrtle Beach and Fort Myers launch October 22, and West Palm Beach begins December 17.
Frontier is the one to watch. They're Spirit's closest budget rival and have already been creeping into the same markets. No big announcement yet, but don't be surprised when one comes.

Analog Travel Is the Reset Button Tourism Needed |
|
Travelers are putting their phones down and picking up paper maps, and it is not a quirky aesthetic choice; it is a full cultural correction. Analog travel, which swaps digital screens and obnoxious notification noises for film cameras, journals, and spontaneous detours, is shifting the way people travel this year. The trend is less about being precious and more about being present, and as far away from the algorithm as you can get.
Whatβs interesting about this shift is that it is not just individual travelers going rogue. Hotels are also taking a hint. Properties like Under Canvas are intentionally skipping WiFi in their camps and encouraging guests to unplug entirely. People want to experience travel as a digital detox to fight burnout and fatigue, and the hospitality industry is all on board for building around that desire. Wellness is becoming more about restoration, with cycling, hiking, foraging, and even forest bathing. The people yearn for uninterrupted vacations.
The deeper truth here is that analog travel is not a rejection of modern life; it is a correction of it.
Interest in astrotourism has skyrocketed, literary retreats are more popular than ever, and 84% of travelers surveyed by VRBO expressed interest in staying on or near a farm. Me included. The world got very loud very fast, and travelers are opting out of it with their itineraries.
Check out all the ways you can take your own analog trip.
