My TikTok For You Page has been nothing but diamond-diggers fetching their own rocks, and I’ve had so much FOMO. This is the only US state where you can score your own diamonds, so if you’re down to swing a shovel for your next jewelry piece, it’s worth the effort.

In today’s edition:

  • Free flights are taking tourists across Thailand this fall

  • Southwest Rapid Rewards could soon take you to Asia

  • If you’re a β€œnever-cruiser,” these small luxurious cruises are for you

I dig it,

Kaylen

Tourists Get Thousands of Free Flights in Thailand

Thailand always sounds like a good idea, especially this fall, as the country millions love is giving away free domestic flights for tourists who want to see more on their trips. Thailand plans to give 200,000 international visitors free domestic flights over the next three months, so Christmas has basically come early.

The Buy International, Free Thailand Domestic Flights campaign lets eligible tourists claim a free round-trip within the country when booking international flights through participating airlines or travel agencies. Supported by the tourism ministry, the offer is set for September through November, pending cabinet approval, with the government covering up to THB 1,750 ($53.55) one-way or THB 3,500 ($107.10) round-trip, plus checked baggage (44 lbs) per ticket.

Thailand is giving away free domestic flights to push tourists beyond Bangkok, Phuket, and Chiang Mai, encouraging them to explore lesser-known places like Pai, Chiang Rai, and the islands of Trat, temples, local food scenes, and beaches. Six airlines (Thai Airways, Thai AirAsia, Bangkok Airways, Nok Air, Thai Lion Air, and Thai Vietjet) are on board, and officials hope the program will generate significant revenue, though only arrivals by air qualify, and pre-existing bookings don’t count.

Thailand is trying to bounce back after a rough few years, with tourist numbers down and safety concerns affecting its image. The government is offering easier visas and digital nomad options, with free domestic flights as the flashiest move.

Your Southwest Points Could Stretch to Asia

I flew Southwest for the first time a few days ago, and I’ve got to say, the seats are comfy enough that I could handle a long haul in them. Now the airline’s teaming up with Taiwan’s China Airlines, making West Coast connections much easier, with the whole trip bookable directly through China Airlines.

Back in June 2025, Southwest announced the partnership with Taiwan’s China Airlines, and as of last week, the partnership is live! Travelers can finally book seamless itineraries combining both airlines. The new routes take off January 19, 2026, with five major West Coast airports to serve as gateways: Los Angeles (LAX), Phoenix (PHX), Seattle (SEA), San Francisco (SFO), and Ontario, California (ONT).

✈️ How can I use my points?

The partnership will start small, but it’s big news for Southwest Rapid Rewards members to soon earn and redeem points on flights to Asia. Southwest is still working on the tech to make booking and award redemptions available directly through its site and app, but for now, you can book combined itineraries on China Airlines’ website. For example, you could fly Southwest from Nashville to Ontario and then connect onto a China Airlines Boeing 777-300 for the nonstop trip to Taiwan.

You can’t redeem Rapid Rewards for these flights just yet, but once the system’s ready, it’ll make long-haul travel way easier. For now, it’s just a promising start, and we’ll keep you updated with any more news!

Luxury Cruises for People Who Really Don’t Like Cruises

Many know by now my fear and distaste for cruises, but for those like me who might need convincing to at least give it a try, there are small, luxurious ships you can take that make the first step easier. Think of cozy, well-appointed yachts instead of massive, crowded floating cities with strangers in your face and flash mobs you want to look away from.

A lot of these new small ships are linked to luxury brands like The Ritz-Carlton, Four Seasons, and Aman, and they’re actually getting people on board who’ve never cruised before. At one travel agency, 78% of Ritz-Carlton guests booked as first-time visitors. Some guests are yacht veterans, so you’ll be around the experts to show you the way.

πŸ›³οΈ Small luxury cruises to splurge on:

  • Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection – Offers three luxury ships, including the 452-passenger Luminara, with resort-style accommodations, fine dining, and onboard shops. Some trips include stays at Ritz-Carlton resorts. An 11-night sailing in the Maldives will cost you around  $13,500 per person.

  • GuntΓ» – A 17-cabin floating ryokan in Japan’s Seto Inland Sea with private saunas, open-air baths, and specially prepared seasonal meals. The smallest cabin is 538 sq ft, and the largest suite is 969 sq ft. A 3-day itinerary starts at $4,067 per person.

  • Emerald Cruises – Open-water ships with 50 cabins each, infinity pools, multiple dining options, and e-bikes for exploring ports like Mykonos and Santorini. A 21-day Mediterranean cruise starts at $15,965 per person, with two more ships to come in the next few years.

These are just a few of the options out there. There are plenty more ships to take a look at that will make a first cruise (or a return trip) feel truly special and may totally change your mind about multi-passenger ships at sea.
