Is this a safe space to vent for a quick second? As an anxious packer, meaning I stress way too much about what to pack, my absolute pet peeve is a dress code for a trip. Like, who decided my vacation needed rules? Youβd think this would make packing easier, but no, Iβm left panicking about whether my casual matches their idea of casual. I need to unpack this feeling with a therapist.
In todayβs edition:
-
Want to save on a vacation package to Mexico? American Airlines has got you
-
Sri Lanka is inviting you in at no fee
-

American Airlines Vacations Sale to Mexico
|
Mexico is medicine, and itβs always a good idea. If authentic tacos, large margaritas, and cervezas have been on your mind, theyβve been on American Airlines Vacations, too, because theyβre currently having a sale that allows travelers to save up to $150 on vacation packages to the country.
π²π½ What are the package deals?
American Airlines Vacations is offering really good deals to Mexico right now. If you book by August 11 for travel through April 30, 2026, you can get $75 off when you spend at least $2,500 on a minimum 3-night stay. Use code SUNSPLASH75 at checkout. If you want a bigger deal, spend $3,500 or more on a 4-night stay, and youβll get $125 off with code SUMMERESCAPE125.
If Mexicoβs been on your mood board, this deal covers all the right places: CancΓΊn, Los Cabos, Cozumel, Mexico City, Veracruz, and Tijuana. Just note a few blackout dates (September 1, November 27, December 25, January 1, and April 5), and make sure to book online at aavacations.com or call the airline. Itβs not every day this deal comes around, so get your greedy hands on it! CancΓΊn hasnβt seen my face in a minute, so I may head there.

Sri Lanka Now Offers Free Visa Access
|
Sri Lanka just made it way easier (and cheaper) to visit the beautiful country by offering free tourist visas to 40 countries, including the US, Canada, UK, Australia, Thailand, and India. Theyβre rolling out the welcome mat, hoping more travelers will show up, spend money, and fall in love.
Sri Lanka has expanded its free visa program from just 7 to 40 countries. This move makes visiting the island easier and more appealing. By cutting the hassle of getting visas on time and paying fees, Sri Lanka hopes to attract more tourists eager to explore its culture, nature, and warm hospitality. Itβs a smart move that other countries have used to help their economies bounce back.
π±π° What does the Sri Lanka offer for someone whoβs never been?
Sri Lankaβs free visa expansion opens up a world of amazing experiences. You can chill on the golden beaches of Mirissa or Arugam Bay, explore the tea plantations in Nuwara Eliya, or visit ancient sites like Sigiriya Rock Fortress and the Temple of the Tooth.
Thereβs something for every kind of traveler. Whether youβre seeking adventure, culture, or just a vacation where youβre completely horizontal on a daybed, youβll find it all with a warm Sri Lankan welcome. Iβve heard such great things about it from friends in the UK who visit every summer, and I just have to bite the bullet and plan my own trip soon.

New Program Lets You Speed Past TSA and Customs on Layovers |
The worst part about layovers is the hassle of re-clearing security or dealing with customs all over again when you're just trying to make your next flight. A new program, One Stop Security, hopes to fix that. Now being piloted in the US with American Airlines, it allows eligible international travelers to skip the usual TSA and customs re-checks when connecting through select airports.
The program lets travelers clear US Customs right at the arrival gate and skip TSA during stopovers. Your bag is also checked through to your final destination. For an even faster arrival, preclearance airports like Dublin or Toronto let you complete customs before boarding, so you land in the US like it were a domestic flight.
It is currently being tested at Americanβs Dallas Fort Worth (DFW) hub with flights arriving from London Heathrow (LHR). If all goes smoothly, it could expand to more major airports soon. I already tested it on this exact route from London, and it was a breeze. I even had time to dillydally and visit the lounge for a meal before my second leg.
