I’m writing to you from rainy Los Angeles. Never thought we’d see the day of a good downpour anytime soon this year, but here we are and it feels like a miracle, just wish it happened much earlier when we needed it the most. Hopefully, it's a sign of more to come! Wishing you bright days ahead, wherever you are in the world. ❤️

Expedia’s Spring Travel Outlook
|
Expedia just dropped its Spring Travel Outlook, giving us the inside scoop on how to plan for the season ahead. The big takeaway? Late April is the best time to save money and avoid crowds. With international travel on the rise, Americans are stretching their budgets to countries where their dollar goes the furthest. See where to save big and tips on spring travel!
Tips from the Expedia:
📅 Best and worst times to book flights: It’s best to book 3–4 weeks before departure to save up to 25%. Booking less than a week out or more than 90 days ahead won’t save you much.
🚨 Peak travel dates to avoid: Last two Saturdays of March (22 and 29), Easter weekend (April 18–20), and Mother’s Day weekend (May 9–11).
đź’° Best time to travel and save: For domestic flights, aim for the last week of April or the first week of May to save around $55. If you're flying internationally, the first week of March or the last week of April could save you $115. For extra savings, swap a Friday departure for a Tuesday to save 15%.
🌍 Where to go: Trending destinations are on the rise, with Rio (+85%), Curaçao (+60%), Tokyo and Osaka (+50%), and Maui and Istanbul (+45%) gaining popularity. Budget travelers can stretch their dollars further in Tokyo, Mexico City, and Seoul, courtesy of a strong US dollar.
🎟️ When to avoid the crowds and high prices: Flight prices peak in late March to early April due to the spring break rush. For the best deals, book before March 10 or between late April and early May. To avoid the crowds, plan your trip before Memorial Day Weekend.
The Spring Travel Outlook also highlights cruise savings during wave season and essential tips for planning a smooth spring getaway. Check out the full report here, and don’t forget to book the best travel insurance before heading out. |

Venice Doubles Down and Increases Taxes for Daytrippers Again
|
Venice is making it clear: they’re not keen on tourists taking over their city! Known for its canals and stunning architecture, it’s always been a top tourist spot, but with big crowds come challenges. Last year, Venice introduced the world’s first city access fee, and now, in 2025, they’re doubling down by increasing the fee to control tourist traffic and limit daytrippers during peak times.
🛶 New changes to expect:
This year, the access fee will increase from 5 to 10 Euros for daytrippers without an overnight reservation. The fee will apply on 54 "fee days" from April 18 to May 4, and every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday through July 27.
The access fee applies only to day visitors who plan to be in Venice between 8:30 am and 4 pm on one of the fee dates. Overnight guests are exempt, and daytrippers can reduce the fee to 5 Euros by booking at least four days in advance. Children under 14 and people with disabilities are also exempt but must present an identity or disability card if requested.
đź’¶ How do I pay the fee?
Visitors can use the Venezia Unica website. The fee can be paid in advance or on the day of arrival, but those paying on arrival won’t receive the 50% early booking discount. Payment must be completed before entering Venice. Fines for not paying the fee range from $52 to $310. |
